European co-operation project in the catering sector: Catering to caterers needs

Project aim:
To contribute to the local economy and job creations by supporting the development of a sustainable catering sector through the provision of high quality training and business support.
Main objectives:
- Jointly develop and disseminate common tools and methods to continuing education professionals to provide high quality business support and adequate training to the catering sector to:
- Encourage business creation
- Improve the competitiveness of the catering sector by supporting the development of high quality products and services
- Contribute to the sustainable development of our regions by supporting the use of local products in the catering sector, thus reducing the food mile
Specific objectives:
Phase 1:
- understand and analyse the sector's evolution, needs and differences across the partner countries
- identify the skills and competencies needed by the catering sector to improve the quality of the products and the service offered and thus improve its competitiveness
- identify transferable good practices to support the creation and development of local catering enterprises
Phase 2:
- meet the training needs of the sector by developing common training sessions and tools
- develop a common model based on the best practices to support business creation and development in the catering sector
- disseminate the project results to training professionals
- move towards increased co-operation between the key stakeholders of the sectors: training organisations, companies and social partners
